My college has a credit audit application available for students to check the progress they’ve made in their degree program. However, this system is highly disorganized and seems to cause students more stress rather than less. BGSU also offers a schedule builder and advising/career help. I designed a walk-through that merges these four functions (audit, schedule, advising, and career) through an app that tracks student usage, converting usage to a point system that helps the advisors better prepare their students for their future courses and careers. In my concept DiscoverU, students will also get the opportunity to assess their personalities and interests in the hopes of choosing the right career path. The main goal here is ease and positivity. Scheduling courses should never be a source of stress; it should be a source of relief. Students should walk away and go, “Wow…that was easy!”
